Norm is just one of the most friendly guys that one would run across.  He was always very friendly with me.  My father, Joe, Sr. was an acquaintance of Norm from playing golf at Riverside.  Norm had nice words about my Dad.  May Norm enjoy eternal rest with Jesus Christ.

As my next door neighbor on Tieman Avenue, Norm, who was several years older than me, was an important part of the happiness of my childhood days.  I believe that the last time I saw Norm was at the wake of his sister Berniece (Sis), several years ago.

I want to offer my deepest sympathy to Norm's wife Dorothy, to his sister Jeanette, and to all his family and friends who mourn his loss. My brother Tom and my sisters Mary, Lois, and Pat also send their sympathy.

For health reasons, I will be unable to attend his funeral Mass tomorrow morning. however, as a Jesuit priest, I will offer a Mass for Norm's eternal happiness with God and God's blessings upon all his family.

There are many memories of the best neighbor, Norm. I recall his questioning face when I asked him to drive with me. I had hip surgery and was fearful of driving for the first time. As puzzling as my request was he got in the car. Norm asked what he was to do if I got in trouble. Of course, there was no answer.

I have been a part of the Wed.  Golf league at Riverside for some 30 years,  and the main reason was because of Norm.  His outgoing,  energetic and positive approach to everything just seemed to make people gravitate to him.  He ran our golf league with good humor and great organizational skills.  He was a great man, while remaining humble.  All of us in the league continue to miss him.  May all his putts go in the hole in heaven.  My sincere condolences to Dot and his family.

My deepest sympathy on Norm's passing.  The Brockschmidt clan remember his friendship with our dad and the fun they had golfing together.  May he rest in peace. I can't make the service Saturday, but my prayers will be with all of you.

Rest in Peace Uncle Norm.  We have such great memories around the "BITTER's CLUB HOUSE on July 4th"    I'm sure your playing poker up in Heaven right now and winning big.
