Matthew "Matt" Damian Sanders

Matthew "Matt" Damian Sanders, age 48, of Saint Louis, Missouri passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022. Matt was born August 27, 1974. Matt is predeceased by his mother, Deborah (nee Ellis) Sanders, a niece, Hannah Sanders, and fathers in law, Donald Dornbach and Edward Pound.

Matt leaves behind his loving wife, Melanie (Dornbach), his beloved children, Chastity (Timothy Phemister) Sanders, Matthew (Sarah Harper) Sanders, and Zach (Kyleen Brumit) Sanders. He was “Paw Paw” to Brayden and Makenna. Matt also leaves behind his father, David Sanders, Sr., his brothers, David Sanders, Jr., Eric (Melissa) Sanders, and Sean Sanders, his mother in law, Lola Pound, and a sister in law, Sommer (Alex) Brown. He was a good friend to many and will be missed by all.

Matt was dedicated to his family and loved spending time with them the most. He was definitely a family man. He had a good sense of humor and enjoyed a good meal, and never missed out on a dessert. He loved a good piece of carrot cake and a satisfying snickers bar. Matt and Melanie spent time traveling on his beloved Harley Davidson. Once they traveled to Colorado on Melanie's father bike as a tribute to her late father. They also enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and checking out all the casinos.

A visitation for Matthew will be held Sunday, January 8, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63125. A funeral service will occur Monday, January 9, 2023 at 2:00 PM, at the funeral home. A committal service will occur Monday, January 9, 2023 at St. Matthews Cemetery, 4360 Bates, St. Louis, MO 63116.
