Jeffrey C. Humiston

Jeff was the devoted husband of Laura (née Breakfield) Humiston, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership. He was the proud father of Brent (Rachael) Humiston, Neal Humiston, and Ryan (Candace) Humiston, and an even prouder grandfather to Rose, Jacob, Sawyer, Jude, Sadie, and Maggie. A cherished brother to Janis (Gene) Finocchio, John (Stacie) Humiston, and the late James (Debbie) Humiston, Jeff was also a beloved son-in-law to Hazel Breakfield and a dear brother-in-law to Linda Weber and Lisa (Kirk) Syberg. To many, he was much more than family—he was an uncle, a cousin, and a loyal friend who touched countless lives. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruth Joan Humiston, whose legacy of kindness and resilience he carried forward.

Jeff’s life was one of quiet purpose and joy. He spent many years as a volunteer coach at Epiphany grade school, where he not only taught the fundamentals of baseball but also the values of teamwork, perseverance, and heart. He was an avid fisherman, drawn to the stillness and wonder of Table Rock Lake. It became a cherished family tradition, a place where memories were cast as surely as his fishing lines. Jeff had a way of treasuring life’s simple pleasures—whether it was protecting his fishing spot, cheering on his sons in every sport they played, or later, attending the events of his grandchildren. He never missed a game or an opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments, His pride in his family was boundless.

For over thirty years, Jeff dedicated himself to his work at Porter-Cable Industrial Tools, honing a craft that became his career. Later, he pursued his entrepreneurial spirit, founding Gateway Industrial Tools, where his dedication and ingenuity left a lasting mark.

Jeff’s legacy extends far beyond his professional achievements or the passions that filled his days. It lies in the countless lives he touched—with his unwavering support, his humor, his strength, and his love. He leaves behind not just a family but a community of hearts forever changed by his presence.

Jeff spent his final days surrounded by love and care at Evelyn’s House, a place of comfort and compassion. The dedicated team there not only tended to Jeff’s needs with extraordinary kindness but also embraced his family with unwavering support during such a tender time. In those final days, Evelyn’s House became a sanctuary, allowing Jeff and his family to share precious moments together that will be forever cherished. A memorial visitation and service will be held to honor Jeff’s remarkable life—a life of love, hard work, and unshakable devotion to family. May his memory be a guiding light and a source of comfort for all who knew and loved him. Please join his family on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 9:30-11:30am at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa 63109 to share memories. The Memorial Service will commence at 11:30am.
