Gayle Lynn Gast

Gayle Lynn Gast, age 79, of Maryland Heights, Missouri passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents; Edwin and Vera (nee Luedloff) Eggesiecker, a grandson, Benjamin Gast, her in-laws; Raymond and Virginia Gast, a son-in-law, Joe Napolitano, a sister-in-law, Peggy Eggesiecker, and a brother-in-law, Mondy Gast.

Gayle leaves behind her beloved husband, John Gast, her children; Johnny Gast, Elizabeth Gast-Napolitano, and James (Melissa) Gast. She was an adoring grandma to Shane (Lindsy) Gast, Shawn Gast, Michael Napolitano, Grace (Erinn) Napolitano-Jones, Andrew Gast, Everett Gast, and two great grandchildren; Finley and Penelope Gast. She is also survived by her brothers; Terry and Ricky Eggesiecker, along with nieces and nephews.

Family was at the center of Gayle’s world. She dedicated her time to supporting her children in the Girl and Boy Scouts, embodying the values of community and mentorship. Gayle also had a deep affection for collecting dolls, a hobby that brought her joy and treasured memories. She was also marked by her passion for creativity and craftsmanship. She was an exceptional seamstress, with a talent for knitting and cross-stitching. Later in life, she found joy in diamond painting art. Gayle’s hands were always busy creating beautiful pieces that her loved ones will cherish. In her professional life, Gayle worked in customer service at Aunt Heidi’s Corner, and later at the Hallmark store. I am sure she left a lasting impression on those she served. Rest in peace, dear Gayle, your presence will be deeply missed by all those that loved her.

A visitation for Gayle will be held Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kriegshauser Mortuary-West Chapel, 9450 Olive Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63132. A funeral service will occur Friday, October 6, 2023 at 3:00 PM, at the same location. Gayle will be laid to rest following the service at St. Paul Evangelical Cemetery, 940 N. Warson Rd, St. Louis, MO 63132.
