Weir, Edward, 85, Fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Friday, May 14, 2010. Passed away peacefully surrounded by his beloved wife of 59 years Patricia Robbins Weir, devoted children and grandchildren.
Born February 15, 1925 to Lawrence Walter Weir and Lucia Emma (Old) Weir. Edward graduated from St. Louis University High School. Edward attended St. Louis University. He was drafted and proudly served as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne during World War II. Edward was the owner of Ed Weir Plywood and Door Company and was later joined by his sons Edward Jr., Daniel, and Patrick. Edward enjoyed spending time with his family. Some his best times were on trips to the family cabin in Cuba, Missouri. He enjoyed golfing with his friends at Westborough Country Club, where he was a member for over 20 years. Edward was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Edward and Patricia retired to Holiday Island, Arkansas. Edward was a kind, proud, loving and generous man with a great sense of humor. The family would like to thank the staff of St. John's Heart Hospital for their wonderful care and support given to Edward and his family. Edward is survived by his loving wife Patricia (Robbins) Weir; proud father of Karen (John) Bausola, Edward (Peggy) Weir, Daniel (Virginia) Weir, Elizabeth (David) Phillips, Bridget (Michael) Barron, Joan Weir, Patrick (Cyndi) Weir; proud grandfather of Anthony and Sara Bausola, Nathaniel and Ian Weir and Lauren (Robbie) Weir-Stites, Katie and Hannah Weir, Kate, Grace, Charles, and Julia Phillips, Michael, Meaghan and Joseph Barron, Samuel and Haley DeClue, Ellyn Welker, Anna and Maggie Weir, great-granddaughter Isla Stites; loving brother of Ann Gunther; dear uncle, great uncle, brother-in-law, cousin, friend to many.
