Church, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the age of 78. Beloved daughter of the late Gladys T. (nee Knollhoff) and Michael J. Blanchfield and step-daughter of the late Marian Blanchfield. Loving wife of the late Sam R. Mayfield, dearest mother of Sam R. Mayfield, Jr. and the late Michael L. Mayfield, dear mother-in-law of Kelly A. Mayfield. Devoted grandmother of Sam A. Mayfield and Joseph M. Mayfield; step-sister of Charles H. Blanchfield, sister of Phyllis A. Sansone, the late Frances E. Perry, Rosalind A. Steffen and Deborah A. Bretz.
Dianne spent the majority of her career after graduating from Southwest High School as a civilian procurement professional with the Army’s Troop Support and Aviation Material Readiness Command. Dianne earned much respect from her peers and multiple commendations on the way to being promoted to a GS13 where she managed the contracts to build helicopters and jet engines. Dianne delighted in making friends of everyone she met, and loved to surprise them with cards on their birthdays and special occasions. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, a gifted artist and crafter, and an avid reader. She will be sorely missed by family, friends and neighbors.
A Funeral Mass which will be celebrated on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Epiphany of our Lord Church located at 6596 Smiley Ave. St. Louis, MO 63139 at 10:00am.
Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Children Hospital or Masses preferred. VISITATION at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa Street St. Louis, MO 63109, on Friday, January 8, 2021, from 4 p.m. through 7 p.m.
