Despina L. Pashos

Passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at the age of 86. Beloved wife of Leo Pashos; devoted mother of Chris (Hope), the late Demetrius (Susan) and Constantine (Faye); loving Yiayia of Jessica, Luke (Courtney), Lee (fiancé Lisa) and Caroline; adored pro-yiayia of Chris Leo; dear sister of Kerry (Christina) Gionis and Marina (late Frederick) Block; special Godmother of Susan (Block) Fulmer; our dearest aunt, cousin and friend to many.

Despina was born in Charleston, SC to Demetrios and Anna Gionis and it was there she met her beloved husband, Leo in the choir at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Despina and Leo did everything together. They have been longtime members of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, and Despina was honored on Mothers’ Day 2023. They were both members of the St. Louis Track Club, they volunteered as ushers at the Fox Theater, and they just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this year. She was a passionate fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the St. Louis City Soccer Team.

Despina was loving, happy, proud and deeply devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild, whom she absolutely adored. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.

SERVICE: Visitation, Friday, November 1st from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa Street at Watson. Funeral Service, Monday, November 4th, 10:00 am at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 4967 Forest Park Ave.; St. Louis, MO 63108. Interment to follow at St. Matthew Cemetery.
