He was the beloved husband of Carol Wipke.
Dennis was born April 16, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri.
He attended Ladue High School and graduated in 1961.
He went on to attend the University of Missouri – Rolla, now Missouri S & T,
and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
He married Carol Gillespie on September 10, 1966.
They were blessed with two children, Chrissy and Jim.
Dennis was very proud of his 34-year career as an Engineer working for Western Electric,
AT&T and finally Lucent Technologies as a Senior Engineer.
He had to retire at 57 due to complications from Parkinson’s disease.
Dennis loved his family and believed his kids and grandkids were the greatest
legacy he could leave in this world.
He was very active with his church family at St. Paul’s and treasured
his time with Men’s Fellowship and serving as the President of the Church Council.
He enjoyed sports, particularly basketball, and took every chance he had to live an active life.
Dennis was a devoted husband to his wife Carol and the most amazing dad and grandpa,
sharing his love, wisdom and guidance with all of his family.
He was strong and courageous throughout his long fight with Parkinson’s disease
and will forever be seen as a hero by all those who loved him.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Carol Wipke, his daughter, Chrissy Wagner (Todd),
grandchildren, Ally and Katie, and son, Jim Wipke (Jennifer),
grandchildren, Jamison (Jared), Jordan, Jill and Jacob.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother.

Services: Visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 2nd from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Kriegshauser Mortuary-West Chapel, located at 9450 Olive Blvd., St. Louis, MO.
Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul’s Evangelical Church located at
9801 Olive Blvd., St. Louis, MO on Wednesday, July 3rd at 10:30 a.m.
