Charles W. Barthel

Born on 1/27/1928 – Baptized on 2/12/1928 at St. Leo Catholic Church – Entered into the fullness of the Paschal Mystery on 12/1/2015.

Charles was the loving husband for 55 years of the late Lorraine Barthel. He was honored and cherished by his three children Rev. Chuck Barthel, Sharon (Gary) King, and Sandy (Steve) Rustige; and was adored by his four grandchildren Mitch and Kyle King, Jen and Kate Rustige. Charles was the dear brother of Joan Barthel, and a brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Charles proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps in both WWII and the Korean Conflict. He also ministered to numerous families as a funeral director at both Hoffmeister Colonial and Kriegshauser South Mortuaries.

Funeral from Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa at Watson on Monday, December 21, 2015 to St. Stephen Protomartyr Catholic Church, 3949 Wilmington Ave., for the celebration of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Music Ministry of St. Stephen Protomartyr Parish. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
