Annie Alberta Blatz

Annie Alberta Louise Blatz, 94, of Columbia passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Lenoir Woods. Visitation will be from 10 am to 12 noon, with services following at noon on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa Street, St. Louis, MO. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. She was born on October 26, 1924, in Grubville, MO, the daughter of Fremont Fred and Emmaline Josephine (Lienhard) Thornhill, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married to Robert Eugene Blatz, who also preceded her in death. She loved to watch St. Louis Cardinal Baseball, traveling, cooking at church, and she worked in childcare for many years. She was proud of the fact that her children all graduated from the same high school that she did—Southwest High School in St. Louis. She is survived by: her children: Richard (Joan) Blatz, Brenda (Phil) Hanson, Gary Blatz and John Blatz; grandchildren: Phillip II (Kristen) Hanson, John Hanson, Carl Hanson, Gary Dean Blatz, Terry Blatz, Lindsay Blatz, and Caity Blatz; great grandchildren: Ryan, Addison, Anders, Cade, Cason, Skyley, Catherine, Colby, Gabrielle, Charleigh, Charleen, Carolina, and Calen; and siblings: Floyd Mary (Thornhill) Bourban, Betty Luella (Thornhill) McMullen, and Ruthann Dexter (Thornhill) Atkins. She was preceded in death by: siblings Harold Edward Thornhill and Florence May (Thornhill) Banderman.
