John was born on October 25th, 1941, to parents John David Geraghty and Gertrude Wiseman in Newfoundland.
After attending Royal George High School, he went on to work primarily at Xerox, Telatronics and eventually created his own business Tela Co. Inc. with his wife Sheila as his partner.
John Geraghty and Sheila Tedd were married in 1971 at St. Mary’s Church in GPK, where he was a member of the congregation for decades. They went on to have two children, Chelsea and Summer.
John was predeceased by his soul mate and wife Sheila, his sisters Mary Deragon and Catherine Bartlett and many other loved family members. He is survived by Chelsea (Warren and grandson Ronin) and Summer, brother-in-law Garth Bartlett, sister-in-law Lynda Wallis, and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, as well as many, many friends.
His life joys included founding the Bearing Burners, being a local DJ, car racing, volunteering as a GPK fire fighter, and being a loyal member of the GPK Royal Canadian Legion Branch 94. He was most at peace in Oak Bay at his family farm, and drinking tea with family and friends!
Please come celebrate John’s life with us by either: bringing stories and photos; tea, cookies, and candy; or by dressing up, or wearing flannel and a baseball cap 😊
