Dear Patrick, Sarah, and Nick,

My sincere condolences for the loss of your beloved father. He was a kind and gentle man whose long walks made him a familiar and reassuring presence for everyone in our neighbourhood as we were growing up. He will be greatly missed.

Our sincere condolences and prayers for Jim's family and friends. I first met Mr. James Moran at Champlain CEGEP and in later years my husband and I had the pleasure of knowing Jim as a fellow parishioner at St. Francis of Assisi and St. Clare's in later years. We also met him many times while he was out on one of his daily walks on the streets of St. Lambert and he would always take the time to have a chat. He was a kind soul and we will miss him. 

I have a memory of Jim telling me when he arrived in Canada he lived in Shawinigan.  I told him I was from Trois Rivières and that my Dad worked in the paper mill. He answered that he worked in the paper mill too. I felt that we were kindred spirits. It was so interesting and we had good chats about it. He was a favourite neighbour. Kathy

Samantha and I were saddened to hear about the loss of your father. From playing in the basement to climbing the tree using the rope ladder Jim crafted, your father was an ever-present figure in our childhood. He was part of some of my best memories during those lazy summer days on Irvine Street.

We hope you are all doing well, finding comfort in being together with friends during this difficult time.

We couldn't cry. The suddenness of his leaving and the reality of the suddenness were too shocking. Now, though, seeing the grand photos of him, and of course his lovely lads and lassie, allowed us both to let our tears fall.  What great talks we both had with him, laughs, and jokes. What a guy! And what lads and lassies too!


My sincere sympathy to Jim’s family on his passing. I taught with Jim at Champlain College and he was a trusted colleague and friend. He will be missed.


My deepest sympathy to all Jim’s family and loved ones. I didn’t know Jim well but we were fellow students in Sandra’s Qigong classes. He always had a cheery hello for everyone in the class and his steadfast presence will be greatly missed.  I will be thinking of you all on the 20th.



My sincere sympathies to the Moran Family.
Although I hadn't seen "Jimmy" in a few years, we still kept in contact via email.

Your dad sent me witty jokes and pictures of Trudeau on occasion. Why he sent me pictures of Trudeau I have absolutely no idea, but I got a laugh out of it. 

I will definitely miss his emails.
