I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. Even though I only met him a few times back in the day when we hung out, he was incredibly kind and your home was clearly full of love. He raised a great son and I hope you find comfort in knowing he left such fond memories with so many. Hugs to you and your sister.

Dear Elizabeth and Tim,
I'm sending my hugs and condolences to you across so many years and miles. May you be spared further sorrow...

Robin was probably a teenager when I knew him, but he seemed pretty much like a very nice adult living in a very busy home. 
I wish I had known him longer but life took us in very different directions. 

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this very sad time. I will miss our phone conversations and lunches. RIP Robin you will be greatly missed.

The smell of dirt and antiques; dry jokes followed by a quirky half smile; endless garden trivia and socks.  That's Robin to me.  He played an important role for a good chunk of my youth and he will be remembered fondly. 

One day on our way to school on the bus to said you wanted to be a teacher, with perseverance you achieved your goal and succeeded through thick and thin always with your great smile which will always be remembered. Farewell until we meet again.

Our sincerest condolences on the loss of your father. Jacob was making an AI generative art picture for your dad. It’s an old stone schoolhouse with an antique desk by a river with a beaver dam and beaver. I think it might be abstract art.

Robin was a huge part of my childhood. Like a second father at times. I did a lot of growing up in that old farmhouse, and did a lot of dumb things. Robin was always very forgiving. It was long ago, but I remember it with immense fondness.

Tim and Liz, you are always in my thoughts. Now more than ever.

Goodbye Ace. Thanks for all the lifts home in Elvis, all the nights watching the Expos, all the dinners. But mostly for giving me a place to grow, and just for being there.

Robin, thank you for having filled my family’s life with moments in your home, on your land, with you and your family.  Moments that will always be cherished. May you RIP.

Our family immigrated to Canada from England when Rob was 6 years old. After several moves we settled in St. Eustache when he was 11. While his 6 siblings grew up and wandered to other parts of Canada, Rob knew that this was going to be his forever home. His roots ran deep and his heart was captured. He embraced both the French and English cultures and was equally at home with both. He grew up to be a very accomplished man, becoming a teacher, an administrator, an antique dealer and a consummate collector. His love for  collecting was evident very early in his life. At about 4 years of age every time we'd take a bus ride you'd see him crawling along the floor collecting bus tickets. He never shied away from hard work. As an incentive we had a job list at home and each chore had a monetary value. It goes without saying he accomplished more and was richer than any of us! Rob and I were the "BIG ONES" and we shared a very important role in helping to bring up our younger brothers and sister. A role that I think instilled in him the love of teaching and a deep commitment to the welfare  of his students and their families. My brother was very proud of all his accomplishments but what made him the happiest and proudest were his children, Elizabeth and Tim and their families.  When you wander through his home and admire his treasures you cannot help but take in the pictures of everyone beautifully displayed. They were a daily reminder to him of what is truly important in life.  Rob left far to soon and will be missed beyond words but his spirit lives on in all the lives he touched and helped shape.  I miss my partner in crime (early year crimes) and no I won't share them.   I wish we had more time.Love Bridge

This is a very sad time for you and your families and my heart goes out to you.
Robin was a significant and memorable character  in my life.  Not only did we live on the same street, Houle, as teenagers, we also got to know each other very well through friendship & work. Robin & Joanne were part of a tight group of teachers and administrators who worked together and played together.  Those were the days of letting off steam with a beer or glass of wine and laughing away all the stress of managing family and work.  Those were very good years!
I am grateful that I had the good fortune to know your father, a person I will never forget. Good memories.

Many great memories of good times with Robin  - some dating to too many years to think about. We spent lots of time together when Joanne was still with us and our kids were the same age. We still have several of the antiques that Robin lovingly finished. He was a bit of a terror on the basketball court - sharp elbows!

From when I was a young boy and he would try to bite my toes while swimming in the pool, to when I was a teenager and he caught me smoking as my principal in high school & threatened (while smirking) to tell my ‘old man’ about it, to playing basketball with him and my dad (and all the usual old farts) on Tuesday night & Sunday AM at LTM, to hanging out with him over a beer & BBQ in Tim’s backyard, to relatively recently actually buying antiques from him (from the scary barn I feared as a kid) where he insisted to have it personally delivered to my house with payment in the form of money, hot dogs and a Diet Pepsi, I cherish those moments and many more with Rob, and always will.

Part 1:
It is with great sadness that I make this post today about my father-in-law’s passing on June 15, 10:30am. Robin may have appeared as just a regular man from St. Eustache, but underneath his modest appearance, there was so much more… Born in the UK, he immigrated to Canada as a young child. One of 7 siblings, and despite a difficult life as a child and adolescent, Robin got a BA and Masters in Education and became a high-school principal. Robin loved his job. He would often reminisce about it. It was important to him to straighten out adolescents on the wrong path. At a high-school reunion about 5 years ago, he was thanked by a bunch of students for the impact he had had on their lives, and he couldn’t be happier to hear it! As a young man, he got married to Joanne and had 2 amazing children, Tim and Elizabeth, who themselves have 2 amazing children, his beloved grand-children Gabi, Lya, Tyler and Lilly. Joanne died in a car accident when Tim and Elizabeth were 11 and 13 years-old. Those were trying times for the entire family. Since Joanne’s death, Robin went on a quest for love until the day he died. He’s been with some wonderful women, including Ginny, Yvonne, and Trish. He was on his last date with Trish just weeks before his hospitalization! Thank you, Trish, for your love for Robin, for taking care of him, and for being the biggest presence in his life the past couple of years, other than us. Robin was a man devoted to his morals and principles. If you were on the wrong side of those, you had issues! Thankfully, his morals and principles were overall solid. Robin had many hobbies that he took very seriously and that really made him enjoy life: he was an avid antiques and sports card collector, consorting with all sorts of antique dealers and hanging out at flea markets, making Tim find him the best deals online and the missing cards to his collection. He loved his ballroom dancing every Friday night. (continued below...)
