Daniel Vincent Murphy passed away on September 21, 2023. He was born on May 12, 1952 at Holy Cross hospital in Detroit, Michigan, and was the fifth of ten children born to Frances “Sparky” and Marshall Murphy. Growing up on Detroit’s East Side, Dan attended St. Juliana Elementary School and Servite High School. Dan received his Associate Degree from Macomb County Community College, and continued his studies at Wayne State University. Dan had a successful career in Retail Sales in the Detroit area and relocated to Dallas, Texas in 2000 to pursue Sales and Logistics. It was in Texas that he met the love of his life, Suzanne Luong, whom he married in 2015. Dan passionately embraced his Irish heritage. He was an active member of the Irish Northern Aid organization, and had the pleasure of visiting Ireland in 1986. Dan was a great lover of music of all genres. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his convictions, and his robust laugh. Dan was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Sparky and Marshall, and his brother Joseph. Dan is survived by his beautiful bride, Suzanne and his dear siblings; Mary Murphy (Gerry Salczynski), Maureen (Dave) Semelsberger, Geri (Rich) Holt, Michael Murphy, Brigid (Matthew) Lark, James Murphy, Patrick Murphy, and Colleen Murphy. Dan is also survived by nine nieces and nephews, and many great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of Dan’s life will be held on October 21, 2023 beginning with a gathering at 10:00 am until time of service at 12:00 noon, at Kaul Funeral Home 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48081.
