Charles William Monaghan, age 81, passed away on October 7, 2022. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 13, 1940 to his late parents William and Cecilia Monaghan. Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Carol; loving children: Jennifer (Anthony) Bossuyt, Craig Charles Monaghan; dear grandchildren: Matthew, Ethan; siblings: the late Robert (Judy) Monaghan, Mary (the late Diarmuid) O’Connor, Jerry (Laura) Monaghan; sister-in-law: Patricia (Thaddeus) Mackiewicz; nieces and nephews: Linda, Tony, Laura, Steven, Colleen, the late Robert, the late Brent, and the late Sean. After retirement, Charles enjoyed traveling with Carol and exploring many different Islands. He was a UAW member Local 400 and retired from Ford Motor Company after 37.5 years. He was a founding member of the Macomb County Chapter for Autistic Citizens. Charles enjoyed stock car racing and was a car enthusiast. Above all he was a family man and loved his family. In lieu of flowers, donations to Autism Speaks would be appreciated by the family. Visitation, Friday, October 14, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with dinner being served from 4:30 p.m. until time of prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores. Private burial will take place on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 17100 Van Dyke Ave., Detroit, Michigan 48234.
