So sorry for your loss Jenna and family. I hope you can find comfort in the all of the fond memories and laughter that your dad has given you.  

We met Bob 30 years ago when Keith and I were the age our children are now.  Way back then, Bob and his kids Jenna and David, Keith and I and our kids, Becky & Troy, went on a haunted hay ride at Porky's.  What a memory!  We were in a car drawn by horses and somehow I fell.  An expression that was just catching on then was "Help, I've fallen and I can't get up". and as I said this, I reached out for help and whose legs should I grab but Jen's--the one person who couldn't even see me and I could have been one of the ghosts for all she knew.  Screams followed.  Then uproarious laughter.  To this day we talk about it when we want a good laugh.
Another laugh that carried through the years was when we invited Bob and other friends over for supper.  I wanted to make a good impression that I was a good cook.  Well, Bob never did stop teasing me about how I threw a pan of cookies out into the backyard because they were smoking, that's how burnt they were.  So much for good impressions.
Bob changed many lives.  In some cases, he enabled people to exchange bad memories for good memories.  This man who was once a stranger became a member of our lives and will always remain so.  We will continue to remember and talk about those fun times, and the serious ones, that we had with him.  I read this week that the only time we waste is the time we spend thinking we are alone.  Looking around at the people who attended Bob's funeral I thought how we are all connected because one amazing man, Bob Miller, touched our lives.

Thirty years ago I met Bob when I started to work in the addiction recovery field--we both worked in the same field.  We became friends and took a four-year night school course at Niagara College to obtain our Chemical Dependency Counselling certification, travelling together to the classes.  I met his family and he met mine.  Our lives continued to parallel each other as we both worked at a facility for adults with head and brain injury.  Also, for the latter part of our working careers we both became school crossing guard for the City of St. Catharines.
Joyce and I, and our family will miss the times we had together--the good times and unpleasant times but mostly the times of laughter.  No one can take away our memories of Bob.  God bless you Bob.

I only know  Bob's daughter Jenna, and her great love and admiration for her dad.  She depended on him and will miss him daily.

Bob greeted my children and me  every morning on our walk to school for the past four years. His smile and kind words brightened each day for us. He will be remembered fondly by our family and everyone in our neighbourhood.

There are far too many memories of Bob I have too share here .He was a wonderfull person,we got too know each other via the Niagara Peninsula Amateur Radio Club and the SATERN (Salvation Army Team Emergency Radio Network) his work with Santa Claus on the air.He will be missed in all his passions he helped. I went to visit Bob at his downtown apartment on June 12th of this year. He was not in the best of health but he was determined to keep going.  It was great to see his radio shack and his large tropical fish aquariums. He asked me to take a photo of them and I emailed it to him a few days later. The weather was getting nice so he spent much of his time on his balcony, enjoying the fresh air, monitoring his hand held ham radio. I brought him a small gadget that gave his portable radio more output power.  Bob was a longtime amateur radio operator and when I joined the local club in 2012 I met this warm, friendly and helpful individual for the first time. I heard his voice many times over the last six years and his familiar call sign VE3HNH on my two-meter radio. He would join in the round-robin conversations we had on 147,525Mhz.  Often he cut things short to drive to his George St. and Russell Ave. corner to shepherd his school children across the street as he was a crossing guard. Always a real gentleman, he will be missed in the Amateur Radio community here in Niagara and around the province.  Condolences to his family.  Denis  VA3ONO
