It is with great sadness and much love that we say goodbye to Joyce Victoria McKellar (Knox) who passed away peacefully at age 77, on November 16, 2024 at Lakeridge Health Hospital in Oshawa surrounded by her loved ones. Joyce was born in Woodstock on December 29th, 1946 to Euphemia Bennett and George Knox.
Joyce was raised in Woodstock, and later moved to St. Catharines with her three children. Joyce had a career at ScotiaBank for over 30 years, where her passion for helping others flourished before retiring as a branch manager. Joyce’s proudest career accomplishments were being branch manager in Thorold, and winning the “Best of the Best” award. Her dedication and passion did not end at her career. Her warmth, joy, and love thrived during her time with friends and family. Joyce enjoyed visiting Florida after her retirement, travelling, and often attending shows such as plays and concerts with her family. Joyce always said her opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren after retirement was one of the greatest gifts. The generosity and love she had for others will continue to live on. Joyce’s impact on those around her will forever be held dearly in our hearts.
Her memory will be cherished and forever remembered by her spouse Brian Lowry, children Kevin (Jenn Dayaram), Kerri, Kelly (Joe Gamba), brother George Knox (Teresa), grandchildren Danyel McKellar, Meagan Roth, Elissa May, Bella Dayaram, Kalista McKellar, and extended family Diane, Al, Troy, Lauran Stoner.
A visitation will be held at Hulse and English Funeral Home (75 Church St, St. Catharines) on Wednesday, November 20th from 7pm to 9pm and Thursday, November 21st from 10am to 11am. Service to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in honour of Joyce McKellar may be directly given to Innerkip Cemetery, Canadian Cancer Society, and Canadian Blood Services.
