Sharon Marie Bell, 83, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Sharon was born to Richard Surbaugh and Leona Pokorney, who preceded her in death, along with her beloved sons Kenneth and Donald Bell. She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Charles Wayne Bell, her son David Bell (Jayme), her daughters-in-law Denise Bell and Susan Bell, as well as 12 cherished grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Sharon was a woman of deep faith and was happiest when surrounded by her church family. She found great joy in attending church and shared that joy with everyone she met. A true lover of life, she enjoyed time at The Lake with Charles, where they made countless memories together, and she delighted in the simple pleasures of family gatherings, especially during the holidays. Her love of tradition was passed on to Jayme, who now carries on Sharon’s legacy of making her famous Black Bottom Cupcakes.
A lifelong enthusiast of the Missouri State Fair, Sharon looked forward to the event each year. She also loved shopping, with Bath & Body Works holding a special place in her heart, a symbol of her love for simple pleasures. Sharon had an infectious laugh and a joyful spirit, always lighting up the room with her warmth and humor. No matter what life brought, Sharon’s positivity remained unshaken, and she could always find a way to make others smile.
Sharon and Charles were married on September 3, 1960, and their love story spanned more than six decades, built on a foundation of unwavering devotion, laughter, and shared adventures. Sharon’s kindness, joy, and love for her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the love and light she brought to the world.
A Visitation for Sharon will be held Monday, October 28, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hazelwood Baptist Church, 6161 Howdershell Rd, Hazelwood, MO 63042, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sharon's memory may be made to ALS Association.
