James R. Ambo

James R. Ambo, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at the age of 86. James was born on August 2, 1933 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Joseph James Ambo and the late Jane Elizabeth Ambo (nee Gaoich). Jim was the loving brother of Betty J. Scharf who preceded him in death in 2012. Jim leaves his cousin Sharon Fischer and friends Michelle Foster, Jan Jones and many others to cherish in his memory.

Jim proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict and was proud of his Military Service and in meeting so many people as a golf pro at different golf courses in the area. He really liked meeting famous golfing industry professionals over the years. During his career and after retirement he loved going to the driving range to teach all ages how to swing a golf club.

Jim enjoyed helping his neighbors with yard work, giving the mail man a soda & cupcake, watching the St Louis Cardinals play (late games got recorded and watched first thing the next morning), feeding the squirrels and birds every day and talking to anyone who would give him an ear.
