Everett was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Mildred Florence Bray, five brothers Dallas Bailey Brooks, Cecil Monroe Brooks, Roger Lockridge Brooks, Carl Dow Brooks Jr., Larry Wayne Brooks, one daughter-in-law Donna Wilson Brooks, and one grandson Shannon Kyle Little.
Everett met his wife Maggie Owens in 1951 at Longs Chapel Church where he attended. They were married July 4, 1952. He was drafted into the army in Nov 1952 and served two years.
During his lifetime he worked as a farm laborer, factory worker, mechanic, carpenter, maintenance technician, and minister. He retired from the University of Missouri St Louis in 1994. He has served as pastor of the Church of God of Prophecy in East Alton Illinois for the past 17 years.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Maggie Brooks; six children, Michael Brooks of Mitchell, Illinois; Patricia Little of Ferguson Missouri; Beverly Pearson of Blytheville Arkansas; Kevin Brooks of Marthasville Missouri; Melvin Brooks of Chatsworth Georgia; Sheila Reese of Florissant Missouri; 12 grandchildren Thaddeaus, Ralena, Tabitha, Sean, Megan, Matthew, Jonathan, Amy, Kevin Jr, Brandi, Jesse, and Stephanie, and 25 great grandchildren, two brothers, Lee Brooks of Florissant Missouri, Tom Brooks of Hazelwood, Missouri; and three sisters, Sue Sims of Trumann Arkansas, Darlene Harvey of Hot Springs Arkansas, and Arlene Brooks of Florissant Missouri and a host of friends and loved ones.
