Thomas L. Hemingway of Springfield, VA passed away peacefully with loved ones by his side, Friday, October 25, 2024. Tom was born to James R. and Marian S. Hemingway in Evanston, IL in February 1940. He enjoyed working in his yard, long walks with his dog Smokie, and boating. He had a 38-year distinguished career in the U.S. Air Force beginning in 1962.
Tom is survived by his wife, Judie, of 40 years, his son Brian Hemingway (wife Denise); his daughter Michele Cross (husband Michael); his step-son John Whiteside, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his sister, Reanne Douglass, daughter Merlina Rigo (husband Chris), and step-son, Mark Whiteside.
There will be a service at Demaine Funeral Home in Springfield, VA on Saturday, December 14 at 1 p.m. followed by a reception Interment at Arlington National Cemetery, with full honors, will take place on a date to be determined.
