MARY CATHERINE Stevens, 80, of Falls Church, passed away on December 16, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary (Vaughan); her daughter, Anne Marie Wald; sisters, Sr. Rita Vaughan, SCN and Rose Marie Cornett; and brother, Bernard G. Vaughan. Mary was the loving wife of her husband, Maurice Stevens, of 55 years, mother of Maurice Stevens, Jr. (Lisa), Jennifer Gonzalez (John), Joan Andres (Kevin), Patricia Koon, Joe Stevens (Kristin), Michael Pronio-Stevens (Pam) and Daniel Stevens (Courtney); 20 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and brother John Patrick Vaughan, Jr. of Bellevue, WA.
She was an accomplished homemaker and spent several years as Director of Early Childhood Education for Corpus Christi School in Falls Church. The family wishes to thank the staff of Aarondale Retirement and Assisted Living Community for the excellent and loving care given to Mary. Rite of Christian Burial Mass will be held on December 23, 2021 at St. Philip Catholic Church, 7500 St Phillips Ct, Falls Church, VA 22042, at 1030am. Mass will be preceded with a Rosary Visitation at 9:30am. Burial to follow at Fairfax Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family would like donations made in Mary’s name to Gabriel Project, (https://helpforpregnantwomen.org), or the Alzheimer’s Association (https://act.alz.org/donate).
