It is with immense sadness that we announce that our beloved daughter Kaihla Ashby passed away in her sleep on May 18, 2021. She was a beautiful soul and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Kaihla was a cherished daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend. She was born at Travis AFB, CA on Feb 9, 1993 and grew up on the Southern and Central Coasts of California before moving to Annapolis, MD where she graduated from Broadneck Senior High School. After graduating with a B.A. from George Mason University in 2016 she called Fairfax, VA home.
Kaihla was an avid reader with a passion for learning foreign languages such as Spanish and Russian. She loved playing soccer, gardening, cooking, scary movies, but most of all she loved Halloween. Her presence in our lives will be sorely missed. When you think of Kaihla, celebrate the good memories you have of her.
She leaves behind her parents Michelle and A.J. Ashby, sister Devynne Ashby, boyfriend Max Parsons, uncles Ron Cook, Eugene Ashby Jr., Marc Bounds, and Daniel Winchell, and aunts Lindsey Ashby and Stacy Winchell, and numerous cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00pm – 3:00pm on Thursday, May 27th at the Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA 22151.
In lieu of flowers or donations, we request that you hug your loved ones tightly and live life to the fullest because tomorrow is not guaranteed.
