Greg was born in Beaufort, South Carolina to Gregory and Lorraine Kuzniewski on January 29, 1970. As the son of a Marine Corps family, he lived in several states and overseas. As such, he started high school in Yuma, Arizona and finished in Yokosuka, Japan. Greg attended the University of San Diego on an AROTC Scholarship and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. He was commissioned in 1992 in the U.S. Army, served as a Signal Officer in Germany and was Honorably Discharged in 1996. He eventually became a small business/disabled veteran entrepreneur in government contracting for the Department of Veterans Affairs. He had a vibrant personality who loved everyone he met and had the uncanny ability to make deep personal connections with those whomever he touched.. Greg loved his family, country, athletics, music but most of all, his Catholic faith. He was a true patriot and devout Christian.
Greg is survived by his parents Lori and Greg, his brother Chris, sister-in-law Kristy, his niece Ellie, niece and God-daughter Anna, and nephew Zak.
Pallbearers will be Greg Kuzniewski, Chris Kuzniewski, Richard Kuzniewski, Matt Kuzniewski, Peter Kuzniewski, Michael Dean, Johnathon Dailey, Gary Lambersten and Zak Kain-Kuzniewski
Visitation will be Wednesday July 29th from 3:30-7:00 at Demaine’s Funeral Home in Springfield, Virginia.
Funeral services will be held Thursday July 30th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Raymond of Penafort Roman Catholic Church, 8750 Pohick Road, Springfield, Virginia with Father De Celles officiating. Burial will follow at Quantico National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. 18424 Joplin Road, Triangle, Virginia.
Greg was an incredibly likable person with a heart of gold, and will be greatly missed by so many of his family and friends.
Lastly, in lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to Washington Children's Hospital White Hat organization (www.whitehatusa.org) where every dollar contributed benefits children in need of medical attention. Greg was on the advisory board for this worthy charitable organization.
The family of Greg wish to extend our sincere thanks to all of our family and friends who have reached out to offer their condolences and support during this difficult time. We accept that this is part of God’s plan and know our lovable Greg is in a better place.
