Deidre was born on July 29, 1956 in Washington, DC and was the youngest of 5. She grew up in the district and fondly remembered a happy childhood with a large family. She married the love of her life, Clyde, in 1986 and they eventually settled in Northern VA after seeing Europe during their years of Army postings overseas.
Deidre enjoyed time at home with Clyde and their sweet dog Sadie, walking in the woods in Newington Forest, family gatherings, dancing with her husband to live music, sunflowers, yoga, her polish pottery, and reading books shared by friends. Her kind spirit will be remembered by all that she touched during her time here on earth.
Deidre will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date and will be joined by her husband when his time comes, to rest together eternally. A celebration of life with family members will be held at a later date.
Fond memories, photos and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.demainefunerals.com for the Sexton family. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations can be made in Deidre's name to a charity or organization specializing in cancer research.
