Anthony (AJ) Box- Johnson was born October 4, 1988 to Jacqualyn Frederick and Wilbert Kemp, was adopted and raised by Brenda Box and Steffie Johnson in Washington DC. He departed this life on Dec 9, 2023 in Washington DC. He spent majority of his life between both Washington DC and Virginia. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and cherished memories that will forever be treasured by those who knew him.
Anthony attended West Springfield high school where he earned his high school diploma and was a legend on the football field. He started to attend Becker College in Worcester, Mass. where he also continued his love of football. Over the past years Anthony worked many different jobs but one he kept returning to was a sanitation worker, in which he found stability that helped him provide for his family.
Anthony lived a life with enthusiasm and an infectious love of life and family. A devoted father above all else, he had an intense dedication and love for his son and daughter and it showed in everything he did since the day of their births. He didn’t have much to give but what he did have to give was all of his heart and soul, dedication and loyalty to his family and loved ones.
In honoring his memory, let us remember Anthony for the remarkable person he was and the profound imprint he left on our lives. May his laughter continue to echo in our hearts and may his love serve as a guiding light through our darkest times. He may be gone, but his warmth and essence will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have been a part of his life.
Anthony leaves behind to cherish his memory two children, his son Anthony (Duke) James Box- Johnson Jr and daughter Londyn (Dutchess) Nicole Box- Johnson. Four siblings Chantel, Chanel, Princess, Maureen. One parent Steffie Johnson and an abundance of nieces and nephew’s, family and friends. He is resting with those who have departed before him.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday December 18, 2023 at 3 pm at Demaine Funeral Home In Springfield Va.
