Ana Irasema Perez

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ana Irasema Perez, who left this world on September 26, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Irasema was born in Guatemala City on June 13, 1962, and her life was a testament to love, family, and dedication.

Irasema's dedication to her family was unwavering. Her marriage to Rolando Perez was not just a partnership, but a beautiful testament to enduring love. Together, they raised two remarkable sons, Boris and Douglas Perez. Known affectionately as 'Ira,' she poured boundless love and care into her family, always putting their needs above hers. Her dream of teaching for Fairfax County Public Schools since 2005 reflected her deep commitment to her loved ones, community, and the school children she so deeply cared for.

Ira leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth. She is survived by her devoted husband, Rolando, her loving sons and daughters-in-law, Boris and Paige, Douglas and Kayleigh, and her cherished grandchildren, Emilia, Mason, and Leo. She is also survived by her mother, Ana Garcia, and her siblings, Oscar, Sabina, Teofilo, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Ira's kindness, love, and unwavering dedication to her family will be remembered and cherished by those fortunate enough to know her. Her infectious laughter, love for gardening, and famous empanadas will forever be etched in our memories. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who were all touched by her presence.

As we honor Ira's memory, let us celebrate her life without mourning or crying over her loss. Instead, let us carry forward the love and compassion she generously shared with everyone around her and live our lives to the fullest. May she rest in peace, knowing that her passion continues to live on in the hearts of those she touched, a testament to the enduring nature of her legacy.

Celebration of Ira’s Life Mass will be held at Saint Raphael Catholic Church, 1513 Dunster Road, Rockville, MD 20854 on October 19, 2024 at 1:00pm, followed by a Reception 2:00pm - 4:00pm at the church.
