Timothy Elvin White, Jr., 83, of Petersburg, died at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2004 at St. John’s Hospice. Timothy was born December 3, 1920 in Springfield the son of Timothy, Sr. and Gertrude Hancock White. He married Rita Pavletich. Mr. White was employed at a electrician for Fiat Allis / Allis Chalmers. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran serving during WWII. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 755. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife: Rita Pavletich White of Petersburg; one sister; Phyllis Spencer of Eureka; one brother: Kenneth (wife, Faye) White of Mechanicsburg and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 4-7:00 p.m. Monday, November 1, 2004 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2004 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St.. Springfield with Scott Brindley officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County will conduct military honors.
