Ruth W. Robert

Ruth W. Robert, 96, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Concordia Village. Ruth was born on December 27, 1927, in New York City. She married Henry K. Robert on February 12, 1949. He preceded her in death in 2001. She married Earl Roland in 2004, and he preceded her in death in 2013.

She moved to Chicago at a young age. Ruth attended Loyola University Chicago and later Springfield College in Illinois. She was a member of the Junior League of Springfield, King’s Daughters, Springfield (Margaret Garfield Circle), PEO, Springfield Art Association, and Illini Country Club. She was a committed volunteer to the organizations listed above, as well as the Girl Scouts of Central Illinois.

Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She loved and cared for everyone. She had an open door to any person or animal that needed her love and support. Ruth loved spending time with family and extended family. She was an avid reader and loved puzzles and games, especially with her great-grandchildren, Oscar and Calvin.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan Robert of Springfield, IL, Ann Robert (Rodger Heaton) of Chicago, Jane Robert of Springfield, IL; grandchildren, Christopher (Katie) Sabo of Asheville, NC, Benjamin (Libby) Trapp of Santa Monica, CA, and Emma Trapp (Fletcher Cox) of Springfield, IL; great-grandchildren, Oscar and Calvin Sabo; and several nieces and nephews, as well as the Roland family.

Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
