Robert Don Seiders

Robert Don Seiders, age 86, passed away at Memorial Medical Center on Tuesday, August 22, 2017. Don was born February 28, 1931 in Divernon, IL, to parents Frank and Edith (Peacock) Seiders. He married Rita Jannesse on June 17, 1961 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Springfield. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jack, Frank Jr., Russell, Denny, and William; sisters, Francis, Norma, and Ivy; and daughter-in-law, Kim Seiders. He is survived by his wife, Rita; six sons, Bob (fiance, Kelli Lewis) of Greenview, Bill (wife, Angela) of Sherman, Dave of Springfield, Kevin of Springfield, Rick of OFallon, MO, and Greg of Springfield; four granddaughters, Cristen, Kaila, Brianne and Madison; one half-brother, Jimmy (wife, Maris) of San Antonio; one half-sister, Wanda (Jim) Ketchum of Auburn; one sister in law, Dorothy of Farmersville; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Don served in the Army from 1950-53 and was stationed in Hawaii and Korea during that time. He was a member of the Pressmans Union and worked at Frye-Williamson Press, Hamann the Printer and Schnepp-Barnes until the time of his retirement in 1997. He loved country music and was a lifetime St. Louis Cardinals fan. He loved his family and enjoyed watching his sons and granddaughters participate in athletics for many years. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Per Dons wishes, there will be a private family service.
