Robert L. Carmichael

Robert Lee “Bob” Carmichael, 71, of Springfield, passed away on Friday September 14, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born on December 20, 1940 in Tallula, IL., the son of Harry Lee and Helen Jones Carmichael. He married Karen Thorne on April 27, 1978 in Fort Meyers, Florida and she survives.

Bob is also survived by his brother-in-law Wilbur Thorne Jr. of Lincoln, IL., and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by three aunts: Edith Denton, Minnie Jones, and Vida Fitzpatrick, and one uncle Bill Jones.

Mr. Carmichael was a bus driver for Springfield Mass Transit before opening and operating B&C Appliance Service in Springfield. He enjoyed camping at NSPOA in Petersburg with his wife and visiting with his friends at Parkway Pub. Bob loved spending time with his black lab Lady, and attended Third Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday September 20, 2012 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
