Pat was born in Springfield on September 1, 1929, the daughter of Lottie and Fay Hypke. She married David G. Durako on September 10, 1949, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Springfield. David preceded Patricia in death on April 26, 2014.
She was active in the community of Ashland, IL, where Dave taught school for decades, and attended St. Augustine Catholic Church. Together they organized many ice cream socials through the years at St. Augustine’s. She was a loving mother and grandmother and supported her family in all activities. Everyone knew better than to challenge Pat at pinochle or bridge, or any other card game. She made keeping four sons in line look easy.
Pat is survived by her sons, Philip (Colleen) Durako of Springfield, IL, Douglas (Sally) Durako of Bloomington, IL, and Paul (Debbie) Durako of Nashville, TN; daughter-in-law, Debby Durako of Pleasant Plains, IL; seven grandchildren, Justin (Amy) Durako, Molly (Ed) Kowynia, Jess (Stacy) Durako, Nathan (Jenna) Durako, Evan Durako, Kelsey Durako and Emily Durako; 15 great-grandchildren, Carter and Drake Durako, Eleanor and Vivien Kowynia, Lauren, George, Kathleen, Millie and Frankie Durako, Cooper, Finn and Decker Durako, and Hank, Luke and Emmett Durako.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, D. Marc Durako; and sister, Betty Wolf.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
A private family Mass will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The family is being served by Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL.
