Olga M. Whitmore, 82, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday December 25, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on October 26, 1934 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico to Ramon and Julia Munoz Velazquez. Olga married Ronald Whitmore on February 12, 1955 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico and he preceded her in death on September 9, 2006 after fifty-one years of marriage.
Mrs. Whitmore is survived by her children: Vicki (Mario) Lopez of Springfield, Rhonda (Kevin) Kincaid of Riverton, Ronald Wayne (Ada) Whitmore of Spaulding, Robin (Janet) Whitmore of Puerto Rico, Cynthia (Jeffrey) Church of Collinsville, David (Colleen) Whitmore of Riverton, Linda (Steven) Perry of Springfield, Randy (Michelle) Whitmore of Springfield and Brenda (Antonio) Rodriguez of Spaulding, twenty grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
Olga was a life member of St. Cabrini Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking and playing several sports including: volleyball, softball, ping pong, bowling, and coaching volleyball. Mrs. Whitmore loved to sing and dance especially salsa dancing and she was always the life of the party. Olga never missed any event in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives and was always there to cheer them on. She was truly dedicated to her family.
The family will meet friends from 10:00am until 12:00pm Thursday December 29, 2016 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street. A 12:30pm funeral mass will follow visitation on Thursday at St. Cabrini Catholic Church, 1020 North Milton Avenue, with burial to follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
