Norma Jean Sharp

She was born July 19, 1930 in Benton the daughter of John Roy Moore and Vergie Helen Parker Moore both of whom preceded her in death. She married James R. “Dick” Sharp Sept. 7, 1948 in Piggott, AR.

Mrs. Sharp was a graduate of Benton High School. She was a homemaker, Brownie Leader, Cub Scout Den Mother and had worked at Illinois Commercial Telephone Company and Gorham’s Advertising. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Central Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, James R. “Dick”; daughter, Cathy Blakeslee (husband, Rob) of Portland, OR; son Jeffrey Sharp (wife, Mary) of Springfield; sister, Doris Ricks of VanBuren,AR. And grandchildren Joshua and Emily Sharp.

Friends may call Wednesday May 25, 2011 at First Baptist Church, Springfield from 3:30 PM until the time of memorial services there at 4:30 PM with Rev. Jeff Whitehouse officiating. Graveside services will be held at Noon Thursday May 26, 2011 at Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton with Rev. Mary Sharp officiating.
