Neva Ann Walsh, 74, of Chatham, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, December 17, 2015.She was born December 1, 1941 in Springfield to the late Everett and Sushanna Robertson Nation. She was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Walsh III, her son, Kevin �Charlie� Yates, and siblings, Dorothy Ingram, Mary Binder, Virginia Renfro, Thomas, Howard, Leo, and Len Nation. She will be greatly missed by her sons: Daniel Yates, Jr. (wife Joy Nation) of Glenarm; John Walsh IV of Thayer, Stepchildren: Kevin Walsh, Patti (Donny) Farmer, Maureen Walsh, and Lana (Jamie) Basden, all of Springfield; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Neva enjoyed vacationing with her children and grandchildren in Wisconsin, fishing and camping. She was an avid fan of the Illini football and basketball teams. Many of her family and friends received her beautifully knitted sweaters and afghans, and quilted comforters. Neva was a member of St. Joseph the Worker parish in Chatham. Visitation and funeral Services: Her family will greet friends on Saturday, December 19 from 9AM until time of her funeral service at 11AM, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham with Fr. Seth Brown officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded after services by Cremation Services of Central Illinois, Chatham. Burial of her urn will be Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
