Mary Louise Lung

She was born in Beardstown, IL, on March 19, 1937, the daughter of Clarence and Hazel (Guthrie) Skiles. Mary married John Lung on July 25, 1965. He preceded her in death.

Mary was very loving and never met a stranger. She graduated from Beardstown High School. Mary was a faithful member of the Lutheran church. She was also a lifelong member of VFW in Beardstown. Mary found joy in painting, cooking, baking, crafting, and watching her grandchildren in their dancing and sporting events.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clarence, James, and Robert Skiles; and sisters, Barbara Jean Skiles and Virginia Anderson.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Lori (Blair) Suprenant of Springfield and Stacy Darland of St. Peters, MO; son, Jon “JJ” Lung (Jessica Tarvin) of Argenta, IL; grandchildren, Haylie Darland, Abbigale, and Alexander Suprenant, and Aaron, Andrew, Noah, and Nathan Lung; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home- Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL 62703. Ceremony will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating.

Burial will follow at Beardstown Cemetery.
