Mary was born January 10, 1953, in Springfield, the daughter of Robert and Mary Anne Basso Keel. She married Patrick J. “Vampire” Garlin; he preceded her in death on October 4, 2006.
Mary graduated from Ursuline Academy and was a homemaker for most of her life. She loved to bake, sew, spend time with her grandchildren, and color.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John and Roy Keel; and sister, Sabina Hughes.
Mary is survived by her son, Walter “Dale” (wife, Angela) Shoemaker of Divernon; daughters, Bobby Jo (husband, Joseph) Martin and Mary Ann (husband, Todd) Robinson, both of Springfield; grandchildren, Joseph (fiancée, Abigail) Martin of Springfield, Isaiah (fiancée, Savanna) Martin of Chatham, Sierra, Destiny, and Dylan Garlo, all of Auburn, Brendyn Garlo of Divernon, and Andrew (wife, Kelsey) Robinson, Jacob Robinson and Ian Robinson, all of Springfield; great-grandchildren, Lily Behl and Brayden Lee Robinson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and caregiver and special friend, Julie Mitchell of Springfield.
Graveside Ceremony: 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
