She was born in Litchfield, IL September 18, 1936 the daughter of Walter J. and Edna W. (Folkers) Johnson. Her parents, her brother, George Johnson and her dear friend and companion, Maryann Reim all preceded her in death.
Marlene served as a credit specialist with Central Illinois Light Co. (CILCO) for many years until her retirement. She had a strong faith and was a devoted member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, now Peace Lutheran Church in Springfield and AARP. She had a passion for animals and faithfully supported the Benld Adopt a Pet.
Surviving are her dear friend and companion, Carol Richards of Springfield, two sisters; Barbara Stillwagon of Springfield, and Ruth (William) Summers of LaPlace, LA, her nieces: Tracy Poggi, Pam Tackett, Linda Stillwagon, Dawn Mushill, and Terry Bast as well as many friends.
Honoring her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded by the Bisch Crematory.
Services will be private. Inurnment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
