Joyce was born December 27, 1940, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Thomas and Sarah Walsh Freeman. She married Robert Hawkins in 1992; he preceded her in death on November 25, 2011.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Demmon Guimard; and brothers, Tommy and Robert Freeman.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Debby Guimard of Springfield; stepdaughters, Barbara Ann (Brad) Ward of Palm Coast, FL and Kelly Murphy of Bloomington, IN; grandchildren, Dawn (Patrick) Phillips, Brett (Colene Stoernell) Guimard, Andrew (Lauren) Ward, Aaron Ward, Genevieve and George Murphy; great-grandchildren, Caragan and Kelby Phillips, Addison Guimard, Caladon Guimard and Gianna Guimard; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Private family ceremonies were held.
