Kathy "Woodsy" Woods, 63, of Springfield, passed away at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at St. John's Hospital. Kathy was born April 16, 1952 in Springfield, the daughter of Howard M. and Thelma R. (Walker) Woods. Kathy was a graduate of New Berlin High School. She worked for many years for Addus Healthcare as an in-home caregiver. She cared deeply about the elderly and providing care for them. She loved animals and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Kathy also enjoyed trips to Washington Park and Lake Springfield. She was preceded in death by her parents. Kathy is survived by her best friends, Debbie and Buster Brown of Springfield; a sister, Kay vonBehren of Loami; a brother, Bill (Tammy) Woods of Loami; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. A memorial ceremony will be held at a later date.
