John was born August 15, 1973, in Springfield, IL, the son of John W. Jackson Sr. and Patricia Magro Jackson. He married Kathryn “Kate” Diaz on March 19, 2016, in Springfield at the Cathedral Church of the Immaculate Conception.
John was a 1991 graduate of Calvary Academy. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. John was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and an avid lover of dogs.
He was preceded in death by his father.
John is survived by his mother, Pat Magro Jackson Scroggins of Springfield; and his wife, Kate Diaz Jackson.
Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Paul Lesupati officiating. A private burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery with military honors.
