Gary C Brashear

Gary was born in Springfield, MO, August 18, 1944 the son of Lawrence C. and Erma E.(Lewis) Brashear. He married Gloria Hill in Springfield, IL, October 9, 1971 and she survives. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved granddaughter, Abigail McNeal.

Gary was the owner and operator of Bramco Koolvent. His talents for building and fixing anything was most evident as he gave selfless and untiring to Lutheran High School and West Side Christian Church. Gary could be found most of his free time and some of his "should be at work" time there. He was recognized this past summer for his dedication at Lutheran High School. The athletic field at Lutheran High School was very close to Gary's heart. He took classes to learn how to build and not maintain but perfect the field. He was a true example of giving of time and talents.

A member of West Side Christian Church, he would offer his time as a volunteer as well. Assisting with building and remodeling there at the Church. He never knew a stranger and made those who volunteered with him feel welcome and needed to complete the project at hand. Gary will be missed terribly by his family, friends and those who knew from various walks of life.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Gloria, his two children; Aimee (husband Tony) McNeal of Williamsville, MO, and Andrew Brashear of New Berlin, IL, three grandchildren: Torin and Garrison Brashear and Eli McNeal, and two sisters; Mona and Tamara.

Arrangements are incomplete at this time. Services will be announced at a time to be determined.
