Dorothy Zaubi, 89, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at her home. Dorothy was born January 23, 1924 in Pontiac, the daughter of Joseph and Marguerite Simpson Seloti. She married Edward Zaubi on February 12, 1950 in Springfield. Dorothy was a graduate of Pontiac High School and attended Illinois State University. She was employed for many years at the House of Representatives and retired after 38 years of state service. Dorothy was a great lover of animals, especially her dogs, Susie Q, Red Baron, and Winston. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, St. Agnes Altar Society, and St. Louise De Marillac. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Edward Zaubi; children, Steve (wife, Kim) Zaubi of Springfield, Dianne (husband, Bart) Heimlich of Chicago; three grandchildren, Zachary, Zane and Alivia Zaubi; cousin, Beverly Evans; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 245 N. Amos, Springfield, with Rev. Robert J. Jallas celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
