David Lee Thursby

David was a long-time member of Springfield Bible Church. He had attended Lanphier High School, Cono Christian School, and Word of Life Bible Institute (Schroon Lake, NY). He was also a beloved and long-time employee at Schnucks as well as Isringhausen Imports.

David was the son of Ocie and Annie Mae Thursby of Dallas, Tx. He is survived by family members in Texas: brothers Raymond Thursby and Randy Thursby; sisters Gwynetta Thursby and Terissa Thursby; brothers-in-law Dell Graves and Larry Young; sister-in-law Deattria Mosely; nephews Ladarius Carrie, John Bassett, Dominque Bassett, and David Thursby; and nieces Lorissa Thursby and Yolanda Ragsdale.

David was well known for his big smile, good sense of humor, sweet spirit, faithfulness and hard work. He developed many friendships at church, Schnucks, and Isringhausen's, and was appreciative of the many kindnesses of friends and acquaintances.

His favorite verse in the Bible was Proverbs 17:17: "A friend loveth at all times." And not surprisingly, he was the friend of many. He trusted in Jesus Christ as his Savior, and trusted in Jesus Christ's death on the cross as the full payment for sins and for eternal life.

David will be missed by many.

Services are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, Springfield. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Tuesday, with visitation beginning at 3:00 pm at the Springfield Bible Church location, 2060 Westchester Blvd. John Standard will be officiating.
