He was born on Sept. 27, 1956 in Springfield, IL, the son of the late Charles F. and Myrtle E. (Cornish) Smith.
David was a self-employed computer repairman who lived life to the fullest. David cherished every moment, made the best of any situation, and always did so with a smile and a laugh.
He is survived by his companion Cindy (Day) Ushman of Sherman, IL and her daughters Heather and Erin, his daughter Melissa Smith of Springfield, 2 grandchildren Zakarriah and Addesynne, 4 siblings, Donna (husband Bob) Oller of Auburn, IL, Debbie (husband Rusty) Monroe of Rochester, IL, Derald Smith of Riverton, and Denise Walls of Riverton, IL and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A private immediate family service is scheduled.
