David L. Hall

David L. Hall, 53, of Springfield, passed away near Chicago on July 6, 2015. David was born on September 7, 1961, in Portsmouth, VA, the son of William and Barbara (Shunk) Hall . David worked for the Department of Human Services at the State of Illinois. Outside of work he loved listening to music, going out to eat, fishing, and traveling. He especially enjoyed traveling to St. Louis and Kansas City to cheer for his two favorite teams; the Cardinals and the Chiefs. David regularly attended Springfield Southern Baptist Church.

David is survived by his sisters: Judy (Dick) Mackie of Berrien Springs, MI, Barbara Thompson of Bastian, VA, Cindy (Joe) Strehl of St. Clair, MO, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous supportive co-workers and dear friends throughout the Springfield area.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant son Brandon, one sister, and one brother.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 S Koke Mill Rd., Springfield, IL 62711. The family will receive guests on Thursday, July 23, at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. A celebration of life service conducted by Pastor Mike Kepler will begin at 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the U.C.P. or Springfield Southern Baptist Church Building Fund or SIDS.
