He was born on October 4, 1956 in Oklahoma, the son of the late Jesse and Jean (Marcin) McNeill.
Daniel had worked for Illinois Bell/ATT as a line technician. He enjoyed sports, with football being his favorite.
He is survived by his sister Cathy (husband Rick) Scaife of New Berlin, IL; his brother Tim (wife Kathy) McNeill of Chatham, IL; nieces and nephews, Jessica (Scott) Scaife, Joshua (wife Cheyenne) Scaife, Chase McNeill, Cade McNeill, and Arianna McNeill; great-nephews, Hudson Cloyd and Lincoln Scaife; his aunt Joni (husband Don) Galloway; and other cousins and friends.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield, where visitation will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 from 9 am until time of the funeral service at 10 am. Rev. Mark Gifford will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Old Salem Cemetery, Springfield.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital St. Louis.
