Carolyn Lee Ray

Carolyn Lee Ray, 70, of Springfield, departed this world on June 24, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center. Carolyn was born on November 1, 1941 in Cedar Rapids, IA, the daughter of Elmer and Margaret Henecke. She married Edward Ray of Springfield in 1959. She will be reunited with her father, daughter Elizabeth, and granddaughter Gracie. Carolyn is survived by her husband Edward Ray, two sons; Edward Ray of Carlinville, and Timmothy Ray of Springfield, her foster children Margaret Ray Lindsay, Eddie Gene Ray, Linda Louise Ray Cleghorn, her mother Margaret Henecke, one sister Cathy (Harry) Hardman, one Brother Charles Henecke, all of Cedar Rapids IA, seven grandchildren all in the Springfield area and several nieces and nephews. Carolyn was employed by Starr Bros. Distributors and E.L. Schaffer & Son Distributors, she retired from Federated Funeral Directors of America. She also loved to sew and quilt running her own quilting business, C&E Creations with her husband. A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, June 28, from 4-7 pm at Bisch & Son Funeral Home, 505 E Allen St. Springfield IL 62703.
