Carl, or Sonny as childhood friends knew him, was born on May 21, 1933. He grew up in Virden, IL, and married Darlene Butcher at the Little Brown Church in the Vale and has been happily married for 69 years.
Carl proudly served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He worked as a rural carrier until he retired from the US Post Office. He loved telling stories and talking with everyone he met. He also loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel and Edward Casper; and sister, Marlene Beard.
Carl is survived by his wife, Darlene (Butcher) Casper of Springfield; children, Gregory (Mary) Casper of Conroe, TX, Steven Casper of Springfield, and Debbie (Steve) Thomas of Springfield; 14 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Graveside Ceremony: 1:00 p.m on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Farmington Cemetery in Farmingdale, IL, with Steve Thomas officiating.
