Willene Ford Therkelson, a former (Cincinnati, OH) (Crossville, TN) resident, was born on October 14th, 1925, and passed away on July 10th, 2024. Willene was a resident of Lebanon, OH, at the time of her passing. She was born in Silver Springs, TN, to Jesse and Bertha (Clouse) Ford. A 1944 graduate of Eastern High School in Detroit, MI, Willene went on to work in the financial services profession as a bank teller for nearly 50 years. She married Francis David “Turk” Therkelson at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Hazel Park, MI, on April 14th, 1948. Willene and Turk celebrated their 76th Wedding Anniversary this year. Willene is survived by her husband, Turk; two sisters, Juanita Ford Irving and Dorothy Ford Rezny; one dear sister-in-law, Betty Grimes Ford; one daughter, Sharon Ruth Therkelson Boyd; one son, David Therkelson (Christine); six grandchildren, six great grandchildren (one on the way), and one great-great grandchild on the way. Willene was preceded in death by six siblings, one son (Donald Therkelson) and one son-in-law (Gordon Boyd). A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, July 20th, Anderson Funeral Home, 40 N. Main St., Springboro, OH 45066, where the family will receive guests from 11 AM to the time of service. After the memorial service, a private family burial will be at Springboro Cemetery. Beginning at 1:30 PM, the family will receive guests at Otterbein Senior Life Community, 585 OH-741, Lebanon, OH 45036. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made in memory of Willene Therkelson to: Samaritan’s Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 2860, or Habitat for Humanity International, 285 Peachtree Center Ave NE, Ste 2700, Atlanta, GA 30303. Willene and Turk have been dedicated long-time donors and volunteers for these two organizations.
